take a few minutes and create your new stationery for the course.

| #3 Your Work-based Learning Resume In our first course you learned a good deal
about the role of the WBL coordinator and the skills needed to do a
quality job for your school.
I have found that the resume is a
great document to use in summarizing all your knowledge and abilities. As
we proceed through this second course you will see how this all fits into
the big picture or resume. In fact, your final exam will be to complete
this resume. If you have not taken the first course,
complete as much as you can.
Tasks:
-
Open the
attached file and
update/change
ONLY the data which appears in red.
-
Change the red font to
black after updating the material.
-
Do not change the format.
-
Do not change the fonts.
-
Update your name, address,
phone, email, etc.
-
Update your education, work
experience, references, etc.
SELL YOUR KNOWLEDGE:
Create one sentence for the 8 areas in the chart. These sentences should
start with an action verb. Do not start with the word "I." For
example: "Able to network at business functions in order to develop
employment opportunities for students." or "Capable of creating"
marketing media for program's brochures and flyers."
You may need to carry your
"Work-Based Knowledge" over to the second page. Put your heading into the
"header" section of the page.
Before saving and submitting your
resume, change all the text to black.
SPELL CHECK!
Note: It is acceptable for
adults, 25 and older, to have a two-page resume.
|
| #4 "You ought to be in movies!" You will be
asked to identify a movie which has a scene in it depicting some event
that our students would experience while enrolled in our programs.
For example, a job interview scene, a scene showing the individual being
fired, an ethical or moral dilemma, etc.
Each student will be asked to identify a movie and
describe the application and significance of the scenes. |
| #5 Presentation to Board of Education
#6 Marketing Brochure to students and parents.
In the previous course you designed a brochure which you could use in
marketing your program and advisory board to employers.
You will now be asked to design the brochure
specifically for the student and parent audience. Your brochure
should answer the questions:
-
Who - is
the program for?
-
What - what
is the program.
-
Why -
should you participate?
-
Where -
does the training take place?
-
When - does
the training take place?
-
Stress the benefits for the student not to the employer.
-
You may
also include information about credits, instruction, procedures, etc.
-
Use eye
catching graphics.
-
Make sure
the front cover states that this is a brochure for students and
parents.
-
Do not use
more than 2 different fonts.
-
Headings
should be in 14 - 18 pt.
-
Text should
be either 10 or 12 pt.
-
Include
your contact information: name, phone, email, website, school address.
-
You may
use the design you created in course one - the employer brochure.
