Committee Action Items

Establishing Benchmarks for Computer Literacy for all our graduates:

	The group discussed the needs of employers. Grace Markham will bring samples of tests used by Manpower in the assessment process.
	We need to benchmark the needs of colleges.

K-12 District-wide benchmarks for computer literacy:

Alan Rosofsky will get feedback from elementary school pilot in which fourth graders are being taught how to type. Alan will report at the next meeting.

Benchmarks for all our graduates:

Food for thought -

	Keyboard at the speed of 35 wpm for three minutes with less than three errors.
	From handwritten material, create a business letter using Microsoft Word.
	From handwritten data, create a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet of data, use simple formulas, and produce a graphical representation of such data.
	Using the data from the spreadsheet, create a database in Microsoft Access.
	Create a flyer using Microsoft Publisher.
	Create a five slide presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint.

We are currently seeking to add to our committee's membership individuals from the corporate and college sectors. We encourage you to identify other individuals within your corporation who maybe able to assist us. Contact MaryPat Grafstein.
